Psychosomatic therapy - when the body says what you won't say in words

Psychosomatic therapy - when the body says what you won't say in words

In a world where the pace of life is constantly accelerating, more and more people are struggling with ailments that cannot be explained by the results of tests. Back pain, muscle tension, palpitations, chest tightness, chronic fatigue - even though the body clearly „protests,” medical examinations often show nothing alarming. In such situations, it is worth looking at the problem more broadly - and this is what it offers. psychosomatic therapy.

What is psychosomatic therapy?

It is a therapeutic approach that assumes a close relationship between the emotional state vs. body functioning. Psychosomatics does not separate the mind from the body - it treats a person holistically. Emotions, stress, mental tensions can manifest themselves in the form of physical symptoms, and their long-term suppression can lead to chronic pain.

Psychosomatic therapy combines classical physiotherapy with techniques to regulate the nervous system and work with breathing, mindfulness and body awareness. It helps restore balance not only muscularly, but also emotionally.

Who is this form of therapy for?

Psychosomatic therapy can be particularly helpful if:

  • you experience chronic muscle tension or pain, even though there was no injury,
  • You live under stress and feel that you „carry it in your body.”,
  • you suffer from gastrointestinal, heart, respiratory ailments that have no clear medical cause,
  • You struggle with insomnia, difficulty breathing, dizziness,
  • You feel overloaded, „disconnected from your body” or overwhelmed by emotions,
  • you have had difficult experiences or traumas that have left a mark on your body,
  • you are in the process of treating neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis - and you want to support your body from the emotional side as well.
