Lateral epicondylitis

Lateral epicondylitis

Lateral epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow, is a disorder that affects the common origin of the flexor muscle, causing pain and functional disorders such as grip weakness. Most patients complain of pain in the lateral elbow area, which usually radiates downward along the extensor muscle mass, worsening during inversion and straightening of the wrist and fingers under resistance. Symptoms have a gradual onset and are usually not related to a specific injury. The pain intensifies when lifting objects.

The HILT high energy laser has an analgesic effect, stimulates blood flow and tissue repair.

In the study, HILT combined with exercise was more effective than placebo. HILT may be the preferred treatment for lateral epicondylitis and is well complemented by other forms of therapy such as manual therapy.
